The Wiz is a vibrant and soulful retelling of L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, reimagined through the lens of African-American culture. The story follows Dorothy, a young girl from Kansas, who is swept away by a tornado to the magical Land of Oz. Along her journey to find her way home, she meets a Scarecrow in search of a brain, a Tinman who longs for a heart, and a Lion who needs courage. Together, they face challenges, encounter whimsical characters, and discover the power of self-belief, friendship, and home. Filled with powerful music, energetic dance, and heartwarming moments, The Wiz celebrates community, courage, and the joy of the journey.
